I am also wearing a Shaela Shetland hat I spun and knit in my "author" photo to the right.
This week so far, we have completed spring hoof trimming and crotching of the bred ewes to prepare for lambing, also some of the spring worming. We showed some friends we sold a ewe to how to trim hooves. I also showed her how to spin on a hand-spindle and how to hand card, and we had such a nice Easter with them. We really believe in showing people we sell sheep to how to care for them.
Now that the shaela skein is finished, I'm spinning Mia Blanca's white 2012 rovings so that I will have some white yarn for solar dyeing. Russ is putting our new greenhouse together, and if there is room among the plants, that will be a great place to do solar dyeing later this spring!
